Botanical wall art at  its best. This botanical vintage poster of the plant Tulip Orchid (Encyclia citrina, Cattleya citrina) is made on thick and durable matte paper.

The Tulip Orchid belongs to the orchid family  (Orchidaceae).  The plant has a strong lemon fragrance. Its petals are golden yellow with varying degrees of white crenelations in the lip.

The plant it self may be upright or pendant, but the flowers are always pendant.

The English common name  "Tulip Orchid" is due to its flowers' rounded cup-like shape.

The botanical illustration was first published in "The Orchid Album: Comprising coloured figures and descriptions of new, rare and beautiful orchidaceous plants" published in London from 1882 - 1897.

John Nugent Fitch (1840-1927), a British botanical illustrator and lithographer, both drew and lithographed the drawings.
